Absolute classic BL manhwa about a depressed high schooler with a condition that gives him excess blood and the puppylike, clingy vampire who’s in love with him. It’s a really sweet story with a lot of tumultuous ups and downs that ultimately ends happily.
100% a classic and my first introduction to BL manhwa. An ugly, unpopular but stubborn student finds himself involved with the most popular guy in school. It’s a genuinely emotional, serious, and rewarding story that handles its premise with a lot of care and tenderness. It explores themes of self-worth and grief, as well as what makes a long lasting and loving relationship.
I refuse to read the new updates because I loved how the original ended. The main character is lining away for his piece of shit childhood friend and meets a mature, older guy who he uses as a rebound. It’s a really mature and quiet story that handles the love triangle with attention and care.

Sorry for the double comment but I did not mean to imply that all the mangas on here are about toxic couples. I’m realizing it came out that way. I meant the worlds that feature toxic couplings.

This list… my BL bible. You have really interesting and eclectic taste. I struggle to find meaningful well told BL that goes beyond the by the numbers stories and this list is basically exactly that. I’m not a huge toxic relationship person but there’s so many stories on here that really intrigue me.
I read Baraou no Soretsu and it made me so anxious. It’s amazing. All the works you’ve recced that I read has caused similar feelings too and it’s a real credit to your taste that so much of this list incited that much emotion.
