She is in a story she read and has determined the best way out is through. She's perfectly willing to play her part until the female lead shows up and then she'll bargain a payday and live out her life in peace. Her husband, on the other hand, is taking on very different ideas and even when the aquatic tart appears, he has no interest in anyone but his wife.
She is very confident in herself, very grounded, wise and not afraid to tell you what's what, but can also be kinda cute for her lover. He's adoarable. BUT, I skipped a bit because of the plot device: rival/rejected lover gets boring to read over and over and over and over and over... So it's kinda cute and kinda not.
She goes so far with her vengeance that people die and are imprisoned, DAMN... The translations are rather off, but not so far gone it's unintelligible, though it starts over at some point, but I skipped through the review and part of it is missing, but I got the gist, so... The story isn't bad overall, if you can get through it.
1st: This is not an incest story, check the dictionary. She was adopted off the streets by a ducal family, mainly because the mother was deeply depressed and projecting while her husband just went along with it. Having lived through it once, she took the initiative to change her relationship with her new family. Through this, she and the eldest son fell in wuv and fought through to acceptance. It's cute.
So, the translations go thusly: Okay-Bad-Utter Crap-Okay (repeat the sequence randomly), but is quasi-manageable. She goes into a political marriage with a plan, but that plan is shaken by her new husband's mistress. She has no choice but to take up the challenge and fight, so she does, being desperately wounded in the process. Her hubby is so very damaged, as he would be, but his mistress is bat shit and kinda smart. It's a bit of a roller-coaster, but not a bad story over all.
As a man, she's a lazy ass with awesome sword technique, as a woman she's determined to do her job using her awesome sword technique, though she does get a bit wishy-washy when it comes to matters of the heart, because she has no experience with them. Cute story, but witches are human, damnit, not monsters or heretics or devil worshipers, come on!
Well, she fucks up the world and makes it her own. It's funny and cute and bloody at times, but, yeah, she fucks up the world.
Bear with it, she's a bit of an idiot when she first arrives, but she gets better...although, she's wishy-washy under the 'mother' manipulation of an asshole. (Greater good, my lily white... Judge Judy and executioner...) Politics, conspiracies, battles, soul searching/slapping, creepy hags and a hot advisor with awesome hair, what more could ya want?
