hmmmmmm i don’t know if i want to put it on here but’s in better than my other list so it stays here for now
Usually redemption story lines are the worst but that is not the case with this story. it deals with the themes of war and how that changes a person and society once it is over. in the past life the ML had reasons to act the way he did- not justified of course- but made sense and were forgivable. i love how the sri ehh deals with real life events and conflicts- the author actually did research on the time period !!!! overall great read
it’s engaging! right now the only point i’m confused about is my the emperor is on Arielles side so much??? like why would u go along with killing ur own sister for somebody u just met? idk if i just missed the explanation but…. also it randomly started having sex scenes in the 100s ? after it hadn’t before- which is fine i’m just like why so late? tbh i’m getting a little bored with it but we’ll see
good. way more complex and emotional than expected
nobody in this story gets to catch a break ever. everything is really difficult for everyone all of the time. builds good suspense bc honestly i don’t know who she is going to end up with if she ends up with anyone at all. idk if this is the type of story with a happy ending
maybe a bit preemptive to put it here but i like it so far
