Philomel, mistreated by her adopted father, Emperor Eustis, finds a book of prophecy in the garden, detailing her misfortune and demise at the hands of the Emperor and his real daughter, Ellensia. After reading it, she embarks on a journey to become befitting of the crown in a desperate attempt to survive, meeting her real father, the Magic Tower Master Leguin and her three half-brothers: Lexion, Cadin, and Jeremiah.
