READ THE NOVEL!!!! It's one of the better stories I've read in a long time. Once you get past the whole fictional religions and worshipping them mental block, it only gets exponentially better. I love how it plays with cultivation standards in a western themed series. Truly original and well written!
It's hard writing a "villainous" character and still make them likable without traumatic backstories to make them more sympathetic. MC plays that balance really well in a "I'm an evil jackass that deals with gray zoned tomfoolery but it ultimately benefits good and I won't be happy about it!" Comedic Dexter over here powering himself with sheer spite of arrogant evildoers and working hard to make them grovel. Saving lives is secondary lol
A classic weak to strong underdog story. What I appreciate most is that his "genius" is really just hardwork. He doesn't really have an OP cheat. "Fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."
Quite the unique take on players acting as gods instead of working toward becoming one. I enjoy seeing the world building from such a different perspective.
Nothing new to the genre besides replacing the system with real mythological instructors. It's comedic and has a lot of memes without being annoying but imo not as funny as others claimed. Was hinting at a romance but then completely swept it under the rug. Why does it feel like the author got a lot of backlash for adding romance and then backtracked? There are a few other issues as well but not a bad read overall
