The hint of romance is a bit . Anyway, as the story progressesd, you'd get used to it including putting up with the bitches appearance from time to time. The mystery-riddled plot is thrilling enough to make you hate the cliffhanger. Chapter 67 reminds me of The Avengers movie. When someone asked Iron Man "What's your power?" He simply answered, "I'm rich". LOL must be nice

Season 2 completed. Lol! I can't with this. Slow burn and so cute!!! Every scene, expression, situation was so realistic. Such fun read although some chapters have bad translations which hinder readers to fully appreciate the story.

In fairness for a Chinese trope, it was written well. Had a smooth transition, good character development, plot and overall vibe. It's mostly cute. Light and fun read.

Even when you're a fully adult reader, you get giggly like a teenager reading this.
It was cute. Romance progressed rapidly and steadily like a lovebug you caught during your teens.
Drama and angst are present.
Tackles family problems, friendship, suicide, trauma, forgiveness, acceptance.
It was an emotional ride for characters in high school setting.
Good thing it ended in a happy note for all of them.

This shoulda been titled Onion. Season 1 finale chapter got me sobbing & weeping like I've been peeling a sack of onions. Story started from Shavonne's pov, then with Lewellyn's thoughts & back to Shavonne's again circling round & round like onion. I thought at first the story was boring but when the plot thickens, the story unravels layer by layer like an onion a lot of twists, bumps, turns & pain. The only isekai story I read, thus far, that actually returned to her original world and was so desperate and true to her goal until the very end. Her emotions and monologs were so realistic, painful but resolute. Happy ending
