this was so oof like it's been a hot min since i read this and i still catch myself thinking about it. bittersweet with an emphasis on the bitter.
it's by beauty and brawn author (i will literally read anything by this genius). and like............come on.........this is ridiculous and amazing looooool
(also to be comepletely honest....this is me. we went plant wild during rona. my room is a jungle. and some plants are truly suicidal. + IT'S SO FKN RELATABLE WITH THE PESTS GDI. actually w/ everything wheeze. her birds? my cats...even today struggling w/ one of my frail lil noblemen plants being moody cri)
this is one of the few historical manhuas i've read that's just really well done while still not being an absolute production masterpiece level work, lol. it was sufficiently revengey and still light enough to be enjoyable + the art was really nice and i spent a ton of time drooling over the clothing and, honestly, the nature bg's lol. this is set as one of my standards for historical manhua
another one that's just as great as the previous both in art and characters & will also be one of my standards for judging. this one is a little bit lighter while still being revenge fueled~ the art in this and the healthy relationship (despite 1 small hiccup) is probs what i won't be forgetting anytime soon.
collection of short stories and just based off the first one that made me cry my fucking eyes out this is a damn treasure sob holy shit man. and the art is really fitting, too. MY KOKORO OUCHES. the start of the 2nd story also looks wild and way too valid lol......story 1 tho; shits too real and painful sprinkled with beautiful heartwrenching magic. the rest are like /holy shit/ hits different. this is just pure scary genius
short but a fav. elderly couple move from CA to jeju after a life of healing travelling for the wife to write about jeju's haenyo. build themselves a traditional stone house (adventure of it's own) & spend their days getting used to the little quirks of the island & planning their next decade or 4 as they realize how young they still are in jeju time (but also realizing their limitations). slow island life vibes. deals with grief, life, the human condition. settling into urself & finding joy.

omg feels like we have similar tastes. (also i agree with the 'she likes homos, not me' i felt like i got scammed by the title. there's so much hate in the comments for it tho even tho it had good parts despite tackling so much and having haha very iffy stuff. glad to see someone else still appreciated it)
