MC's in love with his best friend (NOT ML) who's kind of a jerk, but the friend is the only one MC has. but MC finds another close friend (ML) in a mutual game they play, and asks to meet up with him! but... the online friend might just be a gangster?!?!?!
it's very sweet despite the gangster part- ML doesnt play hard to get and really does want to be friends with MC (and more soon after). no serious angst, kind of short, but the puppy ML and friendly MC makes up for it.

the world was normal til an "angel" arrived and forced humans between the ages of XX and XX to participate in a series of "games" every 1st of the month until the final round. u either win or die IRL. MC has a regression skill that maxes at 100 times, and on his 99th time makes it to the final round but fails. regresses one last time with experience/knowledge to become OP as hell. cunning, manipulative MC but cares for his younger brother, who he was trying to support by himself w/no parents

mc is a rank1 hunter who disappeared after fending off a devastating gate, and is revered as a hero after. but he didnt die and instead gets spit back out years later and has to get back on his feet undercover just to live a peaceful life. but shenanigans happen and he runs into ml more and more, who is a high ranking hunter who's obsessed with mc's hero alter and wants to find mc alive despite not knowing he's right there in front of him

plot: mc is a very average if not weak commander to a squad of very skilled mercenaries, and every time he dies he goes back moments before his death (or to a previous "checkpoint"). uses it to his advantage to get stronger to become a knight, which is difficult for him now as an avg guy.
art: its nice.
slow but picks up and ages like wine, this is one of few stories i've kept up with and actively get excited to read abt. mc is very cool, very sexy, my man fr
