I'm re reading this because it was one of my favorites when I was like 12..... I think. its been so long all I know is I read it when it first originally came out. Anyway wtf was I reading back then I remember thinking he was so patient with her and she was just being a privileged brat but he is awful, sexist, old fashioned, perverted and gives her no respect or freedom. If I remember it correctly then (idk it's been more than a couple of years) then at one point she tries to kill herself and it the process loses her memory and he brainwashed her into thinking she loves him. I think he also locked her in a room for a couple of days. Damn I just wanted to reread it for old times sake but now I'm seriously concerned for wft I was reading while I was still a little child

He abuses lassie the point where she attempts suicide and she loses her memory from that attempted suicide
Like the asshole he is, when she woke up from memory loss, he lied to her and told her that he was a husband to her and that she deeply loved him (all sorts of bullshit lies)
Keep in mind since the beginning he was constantly sexually harassing her and constantly abusing her
She has attempted suicide so many times
He over sexualize her
She’s literally in prisoned cuz of him
And people still have the audacity to ship this relationship and hope it becomes a thing
He raped her
He in prison certain sexually harasses and abuses her she is mentally drained from it and has attempted suicide multiple times because of this
Her last suicide attempt was so severe that she had lost her memory
I mean he seriously needs to let her go this is becoming terrible to read
