nah i think this was a romance, it’s like the ending of a silent voice.

I feel like it can only really be classed as a romance if there's some sort of progression, maybe I'm forgetting parts of the story but I don't think they even realised that they like the other person yet? (realised their feelings were love and not friendship).

Hmm no I mean there wasn't a moment when they thought to themselves 'oh, I really like him' is what I mean. I agree there's romantic elements to the story and I think they like each other, but I wouldn't class this as a romance because the characters themselves never came to the realisation and the relationship never went anywhere. I just think the author rushed the end of the story a bit considering all the angst we had it was resolved too quickly etc.
