It's kinda hard to fault the mother in my opinion. Even if she didn't turn a blind eye I doubt anything would change since the father holds all the ruling power. He built the family on the strong lives and the weak die ideology. In order to live in this family, becoming a "great agriche" is necessary otherwise you'd be disposed of. Rather than being cold-hearted, at least the mom tried to give some affected unlike the shitty father. （￣へ￣）
Yeah, i struggle to really hate the mom. I still think she should've done more to save her kids, but at the same time, i can imagine she was afraid of the husband and afraid to die too. In her own twisted way, she tried keeping her kids alive by asking them to do things that her husband/their father would approve of so all of them could survive. I don't like the mom tho, can't imagine watching my kid die, but seeing how she thought that the ML was her son for a little bit shows that she did love him a lot
all the other characters are strong and evil so seeing the mom be so weak willed and kind make me dislike her. sure she has her reasons and maybe does love her kids but that kind of affection in such a household only looks wrong and humiliating and only backfired on her son. had she not treat her kids normally knowing they'd still have to live in a cruel place like that, ashil would've been alive most likely. i understand why the fl isn't able to bond with her mom anymore and that's just how i see it hhhh
oh i see, i'm actually glad she's not fond of her mom....i'd be upset having a pushover who let her son die that way as a mom too. it's good that she still has some humanity in her after all that
