In the novel, it was explained that Kahu has memories of his past life with FL... That's why he was shocked to see FL was alive. But it was never fleshed out. Sadly, Kahu is 2nd ML syndrome. Sigh.
Seriously. Why did the author even bother to introduce Kahu with memories of the first original timeline?
By introducing the 2nd ML (Syndome) you only make us root against the ML who is annoyingly so talented perfect.
