I think most people have a forbidden kink lol, that's generalizing it a lot but that's how the logic works in my brain, for example if you see something that looks tasty but isn't edible and possibly poisonous, your brain may still think it looks tasty. Another thing is that there has been romanticization of the trope in history and to this date in certain countries *cough japan* there has been crack downs on the trope lessening its popularity. But people have come up with alternative spins on it like suddenly they're not related, or they're actually cousins, half sibling etc. I think this has only added to the tropes long lasting life as a literature subject I mean like some other tropes it adds spice to the story and that's what it's there for so I'm cool with it.

i dont rlly seek out the trope or anything, but i suppose it's the forbidden love, adds a little spice to everything or whatever.
I usually bothers me, but i've been continuously insensitive to it, esp when they didn't grow up together. They can't even produce offspring anyways, and also, incest is widely practiced even today (like the whole cousin marrying cousin, etc).

For me incest = LGBT. Both are forbidden in my country, especially in my races cases, you will be in the damn jail and all over the newspaper if you got caught. So whenever I read incest I don't feel it's have any different from yaoi/yuri as it's already seen as the same weight of sin in my mindset. *That's why every time I see others bitching about incest, I feel like, "Owh, so lgbt is alright with you guys because it's legal in your country?"
I'm pretty curious to know why people like incest as a trope? I'm genuinely asking btw i'd love to hear your opinion on it, this is a judgement free zone!
