I don't agree... when I am truly sad I feel better if someone hugs me and lets me cry in his shoulder... sometimes words can't make it better, and even hurt you more, but hugs always help us to not feel so lonely.
I think it would be a lot worst if XiXi was paralyzed and just looked at Jian Yi crying and did nothing about it appart stare and be sad and confused too
it must be warm heart but hurt in the same time. Depends on what Jian yi will choose but if it's me i would rather sad alone. As long as Zheng Xi don't understand his true feeling, to hug is still a friend-hug ;__;

And if he didn't hug him, it would be as if he was so disappointed/disgusted/not caring enough so that he would not even like to touch him. That was the best he could do at this point.
I understand what you mean; if you don't correspond my feeling then don't hug me and make me have false hope because I won't be able to get over you... or at least I think that's how you feel.
My point is; I believe being hugged by a friend(or a mother/father or a brother, depending on the person) is the best that can happen to us when we are heartbroken, I don't think "a friend-hug" is a little thing, it's a big consolation. In this case, for example, it means XiXi may or not return JIna Yi's feelings, but at least he will listen, understand him, accept his feelings, and maybe after some time(just if there is no mutual lve and Jian Yi you can get over his feelings), they could be best friends forever. And a friend is a blessing.
But at the end it depends on the person if the hug is more hurtful or more healing, I guess.
If I was Jian Yi and XiXi just stares at me crying I would feel embarrassed, vulnerable, exposed and afraid, but if he hugs me, I would feel at least not so scared and not so lonely. I would think "now I am so sad I want to die, I love him so much and it's killing me, BUT... IT WILL BE OK, because he doesn't hate me, he doesn't think I'm gross, HE'S STILL MY FRIEND, he's hugging me so he cares".
