If it'd been easy, then so many would have left their partners ages ago. Cuz they usually start good, and then the abuse gets gradually worse. It's like the frog and the boiling water analogy. When they notice it's bad, they're already too deeply involved to get out.
I just hope he realises that he should leave, and that's it's not his responsibility to keep his partner sane and bear his abuse. He should leave so they both can heal. And I hope the doctor gets him out of that relationship....
