Do you think the concept could also have something to do with at having 9 lives? It's what I'm thinking of but I don't know if it fits the storyline
I hope I can explain this correctly but essentially the MC is an unreliable narrator. If you reread the first chapter you will see a cat god creating a cat for the MC and at this point he could be recognized as Winter. Winter may have messed with his memories to try and fully recreate his life with MC without making him alarmed/realize what is going on. We are finding out WITH MC that Winter is not a dog (since Winter had altered in his memory) but that Winter is actually a cat and that his life is on repeat (to experience again). He is probably sharing Mr. Cats body tho idk.
