Yeonwoo's a dumbass

ii_kinglazy_ii February 10, 2021 6:45 pm

He's obsessed with Keith and wants Keith to be obsessed with him.

You know what? They deserve each other. That level of dumbassery is basically asking for toxicity and Keith provides.

I think he’s also been hella manipulated by Kieth. I get being frustrated with Yeonwoo, but Kieth knew Yeonwoo liked him and still played with his heart and mind while fucking him over. When you’re that entangled with someone, it’s so incredibly hard to let that person go, even when you know that person is not good for you.

Exactly, they deserve each other. The reality is YW will never be happy unless he's with Keith, regardless of the toxicity.

It's not a matter of "entanglement", but a matter of choice. Yeonwoo chooses to mess with Keith for the attention, and Yeonwoo chooses to go back every time with his tail tucked in between his legs. Also, the whole keeping the kid thing is also an attention ploy, from a writing standpoint, and emotional standpoint. Quite frankly he's already escaped, however, he felt the need to provoke Keith, so he can chase him, for the attention.

They are very obviously out for their own selfish agenda and that's why I say they deserve each other, they'll obviously not be satisfied unless it's the others' toxicity.

I think the term "manipulation" is thrown around a little loosely, everything we do can be considered manipulation, asking if someone is going to eat the last of whatever. Obviously, at first, Keith didn't see what he and Yeonwoo did as anything more than transactional, so I don't think that Keith messed with Yeonwoo's feelings as much as Yeonwoo did it to himself. Yeonwoo obviously had trauma from the sexual assault incident, but Keith doesn't know that he's blaming Yeonwoo, so when he forces himself on Yeonwoo, you can't really say that Keith's manipulating Yeonwoo into liking him. It's something that he's doing of his own volition, influenced by attraction.

I’m sorry but your comment, especially the last part, sounds very much like victim blaming. It doesn’t matter if he’s doing it out of attraction, we see Yeonwoo say no and telling Keith to stop multiple times and Kieth still does whatever he wants. That should not have happened. I say manipulation because Keith KNOWS about Yeonwoo’s feelings and still does whatever he wants to Yeonwoo, and then sleeps with other people, but still wants Yeonwoo to only be his. He also clearly has feelings for Yeonwoo but would rather sexually assault him. I pray you never fall victim to anyone like this irl, bc if you can’t spot manipulation here, it’ll be even harder to spot irl.

You see that part is definitely manipulation with intent. That I will 100% agree with. I definitely should not have implied that it was really a "choice", but it seems that way to me because Yeonwoo is literally admitting to baiting Keith to kind of chase him down.

I was too rash with my words. I just think these tropes are extremely frustrating, harmful and annoying because very RARELY irl do people have their assaulted chase them down out of, what we can only assume with Yeonwoo is attraction.

I definitely did victim blame, however, that was not my intention, I was overly impulsive and was mad because what he's doing right now is extremely stupid to me, and in real life I would hope no victim actually does this. I'm really sorry if I came off super insensitive!

I understand your frustration with Yeonwoo’s character and his choices. And I agree that these tropes are definitely harmful. Thank you so much for seeing where I was coming from and understanding! I really appreciate your reply.
