I agree, a good author will follow the "everything happens for a reason" strategy so unless that last page is crucial to the story it wouldn't have even be said, or else that's just bad writing ╮(￣▽￣)╭

I REALLY want to know what the hell happened on the last page of the novel she was reading... Because she for sure raised a flag by even mentioning it in her inner thoughts
