No he didn't redeem himself. I've read the novel too btw. I found it quite boring compared to the manhua too because Athy acted completely differently from how she acted in the beginning sections of the novel to how she reacted in later sections when Claude lost his memory.
to be honest i prefer the novel plot better because atleast you got the wholesome moment of the father and daughter but this manhwa got lots and lots of drama that got drag sooooo much that im almost tired of it... so like redeem or not, the novel is more satisfying so far

omg I DON’T CARE ABOUT JEANETTE.
at this rate, i think the author wants this story to revolve around athy and jeanette’s bond. like sure whatever, wanna make their sishood stronger after all these conflicts? fine i think that’s quite nice. BUT WHY??? WHY YOU GOTTA DO CLAUDE DIS DIRTY????
in the first place the plot was about athy and claude’s father-daughter relationship. it didn’t progress much honestly and looking at it, the author made claude into some dry, cold father without giving much explanation and depth as to why his attitude was like that.
like most readers would hate on him cos he’s like an ass dad for doing that to athy and trying to hurt her. GURL THE NOVEL huhuhu i bawled at claude’s pov and rlly understood him and he actually redeemed himself it was wonderful. but now in the manhwa it feels like there’s no more space for such moments cos of all the drama w anastacius and jeanette and it feels like this drama is the climax already and that after this, the plot’s already too exhausted and dragged to even give attention to claude and athy.
