correction, "smut" is full of sex. there are plenty of "yaoi" out there that focus on things other than sex, but "smut" is mostly about sex. then you have "shounen-ai" which has no sex scenes (at least that are shown on screen) and focuses entirely on relationship development. all 3 of these are considered "BL" or "Boys Love".
