The scene where it was attempted wasn't as graphic or explicit (not that I like the topic at all) compared to other webtoons where clothes are taken off or even worse...

That’s really weird for the author to do. I mean, why marry off the female lead to her rapist instead of building up romance with the male lead?! It just doesn’t make any sense. It deserved backlashes from KR readers, I would throw this out of the window too!
That backlash kinda reminds me of the rape controversy of OUTLANDER.
Almost all main character regardless of genders gets sexually assaulted or (gang)raped in the novel and STARZ series.

The author seems to have fetish of having female characters break down mentally it seems.
The FL must be looked down upon, humiliated, outcast-ed from society, have a terrible immediate family, attempted to be raped, successfully raped, have heart broken multiple times, deaths/complete breakdowns of someone who actually cares about them and god knows what else to do to continue it.
Both I am child/this has bastard daughter which is looked down in the society
I am further had terrible mother who tortured FL for years, in this one ran actually gets some familial love atleast for few years they live
Both series had few rape attempts on FL, and in both "original plan" FL was successfully raped
Death of her family here, Multiple breakdowns regarding family in I am

The whole pattern is same,just different worlds. FL must be in pile of suffering from start to end of series.
There are few Ran versions
1) The Real Life Ran- who wrote the book and died
2) The Original Novel Ran - Who was killed by Yustav when she was 7 year old
3) The FL Ran in Original story written by author - She prevents(or not) the first rape from robby, but then is gangraped by him and his friends, she gets pregnant and fully traumatised, Yustav leaves her behind and goes to romance someone else, Ran then has to marry her rapist - robby, this was author original intention for this story.
This is the novel author originally wrote for us readers, KR readers gave heavy backlash to it
4) The FL Ran in Revised Story written by author - Gangrape, Pregnancy and trauma removed due to said backlash and now it is attempted rapes by robby and crown prince.
Manhwa seems to follow 4th for now.
Nothing, assuming all of the info shared is true, it is nothing more than gratification of someone else misery.
I mean, A person killed in life to be at unfamiliar place, where the family who loved her dies all together, one who doesn't love her remains and she has to work so hard to get on his good graces so she is not killed at moment's thought, while having to deal with people trying to rape her, then getting raped and bearing a child she doesn't even know father of, heavily in PTSD - She has hope of Yustav will stay with her to end and become her light beacon, but what does she get for all the suffering? Abandoned during her lowest time without a second thought because she is not pure for him anymore and then sent to her rapist for life.
If the end of story was suicide by FL, it would mean tragedy , but how she was married off to rapist means it was nothing more than feeling pleasure from the characters misery by author.
Even if author changes story later on , the fact stays that author writes them in first place for some sort of pleasure and distributes it, then to get good image and sales, rewrites stories to happy endings.
