Rau eventually lets Ivan go. He wants to be special to Ivan, but since he thinks Ivan loves everyone equally, he decides to give up and set Ivan "free", so to speak.
Anyway, Deon disables Ivan so he can't walk and is confined to his bed at Deon's apartment.
Rau and the girls track Ivan down. Deon instructs Ivan to say that he can't leave and needs to stay for repairs. Ivan comes out in a wheelchair and does as told.
Rau presses Ivan and crying, Ivan says something like, "Please don't go, Rau."
Rau and Deon have an argument and Deon says that if Rau had a chance, he would cripple Ivan too and imprison him. Rau says he's not like Deon. (Character growth - finally.) He just wants Ivan to be free and happy, even if he can't be with Ivan.
Rau tries to take Ivan away and is prepared to fight. But Deon says he has implanted with Ivan with a virus. If Ivan goes out onto the street, the authorities will detect the virus and judge Ivan to be a dangerous robot and Ivan will be destroyed immediately. Rau doesn't want to leave Ivan, but doesn't want him destroyed. Security guards escort Rau away.
There's a mini time skip. Deon has either deleted Ivan's mind altogether or memory wiped him. Ivan can walk again. He is now a fully compliant housekeeper and sex bot for Deon and doesn't have any memories of who he used to be. But in a glitch, he says, "You're a disobedient boy, Rau", but then doesn't remember the name or person Rau.
Rau is now working in law enforcement and tracking down a dangerous fugitive. He and his partner track the fugitive to Deon and Ivan's apartment block. Deon has already left for work. Someone throws a tear gas canister at Rau and his partner.
Chapter 62 ends with the fugitive ringing the intercom and introducing himself to Ivan as his neighbor.
I think the ending is going to be extremely f**ked up and bittersweet without the sweet.

Deon is a toxic sociopath. In comparison, I think Rau started off as obsessed, ultra-needy, possessive and manipulative, but I think he just needed to grow up.

I wish Deon gets destroyed for crippling Ivan, imprisoning him, isolating him, threatening him, manipulating him, mind wiping him and then turning him into a personal sex bot, but doubt that's going to happen. I have a feeling Deon's going to come out on top.
Or even if he gets punished, I don't think Rau and Ivan will end up together, even though they now have feelings for each other and stayed apart to protect the other from Deon.
I absolutely hated Rau to start off with, but when he was ready to stop his obsessive BS and decided that he just wanted to see Ivan free and happy, he really grew on me.
