Think of the prince as a pure soul who’s always been able to put people in two categories.
1. Those who look down on him/stay away from him/despise hi/fear him because he’s half demon.
2. Those, like his glasses-wearing aid, who support him.
He valued our FMC because she basically is the second person that he can put in that second category. However the way he believes she reacted to him (even though it was her brother, not her), made him feel as though she viewed him in the same exact way everyone else does, this putting her in the first category. But then he saw her with Letio and misunderstood the situation. He thought that it wasn’t about the categories, but that she deliberately lied to him so she could meet him.
By lying, she basically betrayed his trust.
Since she understands this, the FMC feels worse because she knows that this wasn’t the actual lie, which makes her betrayal far greater than it is.
