Could’ve been cute, the plot, powers, and world is something I like — BUT, the way the female lead was depicted, how women were depicted...this felt off. Obviously ecchi, the sinister kind, there were loli tropes as well — felt like this manga was definitely written as a male fantasy/wet dream come true. I thought about why, for example, Naruto being embodied by Kyuubi and the female lead being a “medium” for a dog, why it felt different/wrong in this manga despite the parallels. Reading this, I couldn’t help but cringe...even though I found the direction of the story enjoyable. (I’m super supportive of BDSM communities who are into this kind of play of course...but remember, the power dynamics in this. The dubious consent. And the way this sinister depiction of women in a “seemingly” tame manga. I can’t help but turn away from discomfort.
