Come on it’s literally been ONE DAY. You expect a pampered princess to grow in one day. If you don’t like her then don’t read. I really like the female lead because you can tell she’s really trying. It’s evident when she was giving out ideas (her intent to help) but being a sheltered princess the ideas are “crazy” which is more of her spoiled side (everything was handed to her so she expects the outcome to be easy). It’s starts from intent and care which she’s really trying.

It's not so much the character itself that is bothering me. What I don't like is the way the girl is being written. It doesn't seem like the author is aiming at a lot of character growth. To me, there has been 0 character growth since the start. She seems like she's always been ballsy, outspoken, goal driven and courageous. The story makes her feel pain and then has her immediately bounce back to something dumb with no actual change to her. The whole vibes been "she feels sad and realizes her need to grow; WHOOPS she's still a silly idiot". They've fr anchored her character on being a ditzy girl and I think it's because the author wants to go a more light hearted comedic route than hero journeys usually take. There's not going to be any drastic change to her. I'm confident that what you see is what you get. Maybe it's cause I like more serious stories, but I think the author did the MC dirty.
I might pop by every now and then to see how shes doing but yeah I'll likely drop it.

Now you're just twisting what I said (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜 Nowhere did I say that having good points doesnt mean you can't grow up. Hell I love the Prince of Tennis and that kid is p OP from the start and still goes through a lot of character growth. What I did mean was that all the good traits she's shown so far are things she already had. I get it if you like the story. It's not bad. But I've also seen my share of characters that don't grow up and the way the trauma she experienced wasn't enough to make a big change in her is like a red flag to me. It's like it doesnt even matter that it happened. "Here's a sword to defeat the demon king, save your brother and everyone here" "Will it make me pretty?". The comedy route is overshadowing her potential growth.

It’s been a day. She’s realistic. I don’t understand your point- the story made it clear that she is an idiot Bc the prince made sure to let her live without worries of anything. It made her grow up to be a baby. So yea she is currently , because of the environment she grew up in. Also the point where you said you no signs of growth; how would you know the authors intent by your interpretation. We will just have to wait Bc clearly I’m interpreting it way differently and I’m seeing growth. It’s hard for readers to relate to her Bc she’s a princess so she might seem stupid but from her position-she’s trying. Even if she’s “stupid” there was intent to help her kingdom and brother. You say that from the beginning she was ballsy but that’s her personality. She isn’t really scared of anything Bc nothings harmed her ever in her life. A pampered princess remember.

She was persuaded to be a hero not because of the impending doom of her kingdom but because of shallow rewards like "you'll be the most eligible bachelorette". If everything that happened wasn't enough to bring about a change in her attitude then what is? Does someone need to die in front of her? I know she's a pampered princess but there's a lot of back and forth going in the story. One moment reality hits her and she's internalizing it. The next she's downplaying the whole situation as if she's just pretending everything's fine. All the frying pans that have hit her in the head so far and she's still nothing more than a clueless princess. Reminds me of when Monkey D Luffy went through half the story without substantial character growth due to overconfidence and then had to watch his brother die in front of him. This kid already had her reality check tho so idk why the author is keeping her the same way.
My thing is that there has to be something that motivates you to change and the reasons that have been given so far are being brushed aside and downplayed.

If everyone was perfect fast pace change would occur. But reality is people don’t move unless for some type of selfish gain. If you’ve learned economics that’s a huge example. But Is that so bad? No it’s understandable. Is she supposed to fight for her kingdom at the cost of her life so selflessly. What’s so bad with wanting things and being shallow. I think we have different views but even with all that I would never go through with fighting a demon Bc it’s at the possible cost of my life. It’s an unimaginably hard decision (and the comic does make it lighthearted). You make it seem as though change is something that can happen instantaneously which is unrealistic but it doesn’t bother me. There needs to be time for even a chance to have room for growth. I think we’ve grown used to reincarnations where the fl suddenly wakes up and is totally fine living in a new world and carries talent automatically. Or they suddenly just become badass after a huge problem. I like that this fl is flawed Bc its realistic or relatable. With the argument of her being serious and then the other moment not. It shows the complexity of her character- the morality at hand and her selfishness. Which I think is normal. When your “expected” to do something just and having conflicts within.
For luffy; ace dying was a reality check but that’s not what made him change. Did you forget the two years he trained that gave him the time for growth and self reflection.

Okay to begin with her brothers death and the destruction of the kingdom is the start for a rising action. You know the chart a plot diagram. It’s begins and then a small conflict (the death of her brother and kingdom) to go to the rising action which in this stories case is her change and growth to become stronger. Than we would have the conflict of fighting the demon. She has the interest to want to change by the death of her brother who isn’t dead and get motivated from self interest. Every person is motivated from self interest. Think about if your parents die; do you become a responsible, reliable, efficient adult that day? No you get that motivation to change with the self interest to remove that guilt or feeling of remorse for not being that person to begin with. So yes It’s been one day.

Tbh, I think a more realistic reaction would be to just look herself up in her room or run away from her problems rather than this weird middle ground she's in. I'm just going to assume that she hasn't fully internalized the severity of the situation and is pretending everything is ok by acting silly to not break down. That's also very real and human
Was hyped with the comments saying its like akatsuki no yona but damn the girl's an idiot. The story writing doesn't even seem like it's pushing her to actually grow the fuck up. A second after every dramatic moment she's still acting like an idiot. I love character growth but I'm currently not very hopeful.
