I think so too. This is probably starting out as the ml's one of many temporary obsessions (mentioned in earlier chapters).
this author tends to add a bit of realism to their characters' personalities. so its possible they're doing it on purpose for some major developments in the plot later on.
so far its just sexual attraction i think. i havent noticed the ml express any romantic feelings for him, correct me if im wrong.
