What if?
She was not abandoned, her dad just sucks at expressing his feelings. He's always loved her daughter. The knife in the beginning was meant to protect her, not harm her. The prince was supposed to come and save her, since she's his master's daughter. That's why he was like "Wait!". She felt neglected since her dad didn't SHOW any love for her, but he never abandoned her. She didn't live like that other manga FL that got legit neglect and don't even get taken care of and didn't receive any money from her family. (From: I don't love you anymore) Her father is almost never there, because the effing king keeps making him busy. He is being held hostage of his weakness which is her. Hence why the prince wants to kill her. The bastard ex-boyfriend is vain. He likes that she's attached to him. And when he later dumps her, he likes that she's sad about it. So, when he got dumped instead and that she moved on pretty quick. It's like a stab in his pride. Like, he lost. He should have been the dump-er not the dump-ee. ┑(￣Д ￣)┍
