I was going to say thissss and yeah iris' thoughts were not appropriate but mildred kept saying understand her understand her she never mentioned I love both your sister and ashley she only said I love ashley I was waiting for her to say that I guess she's really focusing on ashley here she thinks that they should understand her even if her mistakes were grave...or is it just me
I love that she said she loves Ashley and I love that she stood her ground and stated that it wasn’t Ashley’s fault. Iris needed to learn some empathy and she was able to which is great. That was some Korean aunty thought processes there Iris, that it would be okay to hate someone because of the shit their parents did or that kids without parents are trouble. It’s fine to feel upset but the way Iris was so nonchalant about it was scary, as though yes she should feel that way and yes Mildred should resent Ashley too. I wish Mildred did say that she’s treating Ashley well because she loves her as a mother to a child and that she understands and she’s just treating her as though she wanted Iris to be treated in that same situation. I mean she said the second part but she should have reiterated the first part. She should have steadfastly said that she loves her too.
