Not sure if the term is right but isn't the family being a bit too narcissistic? Like they want Char to crave their love and attention without giving anything back and now that she moved on, their frail egos couldn't take it and want her to return like before just so that they could remain on their high horse, feeling good of themselves because their daughter/lil sis desperately craved their love?
