i have a question, i’ve always been a little confused about what happened with mcqueen and ryan...did mcqueen use ryan like ed or..did he make a porno about rape and it starred ryan?!?
Tbh I’m also confused about that but I don’t think he used Ryan the same way he used Ed, from the comments that I’ve seen and just by the manga itself, it’s seems that Glenn might have gone too far with the rape scene and made it too realistic and left Ryan traumatised by the experience ? Or it’s theorised that Ryan was sexually assaulted in the past which Glenn knew about and took advantage of that trauma and made him reenact a rape scene to make the emotions realistic as possible because in the story it’s mentioned that Glenn would do anything and use anyone even if it goes too far. Ryan does say something along the lines of not being afraid about being raped by men after doing that “rape scene” for the movie. Also someone did say that Ryan and Glenn never had a romantic relationship in the novel so I assume they didn’t in this manga . Sorry for not giving u an answer , a lot of the fandom are also confused with that part of the story.

Let me explain to you what shitty thing McQueen did....ryan was one of the victims of a real rapist ..McQueen thought he could turn porn in art so he made a porno about that real life rapist and his many victims, he casted ryan because Ryan was one of that rapist's many victims.
That was it . I hope you understand...unlike the rest of people here who ignore this flaw of McQueen

How can you continue liking this manhwa when McQueen made a porn about real life serial rapist and his real victims. How would the families of the victims feel if they saw that the horrifying evil thing that happened to their beloved is turned into porno for viewers to masturbate??? It's soooo horrible. And author decided not to show Glenn's apology to Ryan (one of the real victims) he only gave us a glimpse of Glenn apologising. And McQueen's apology to Ed was that he "now knows that something like real rape must not be in pornos"
As if smart McQueen didn't know that before ; his redemption didn't match his horrible crime.

If you want to better understand what McQueen did go and please read the Jeffery Dahmer's case. He was a real rapist killer who tortured many victims. Now McQueen literally made a porno about Jeffery Dahmer's crimes . He erotisized the real rape victims and real life serial killer/ rapist

Flaw. I really liked this manhwa because it showed a story about an abandoned gay guy who turned into porn for acceptance but when he met Ed , he abandons the lecherous lifestyle of porn and stays with ed.it was beautiful and dreamy ...but what McQueen did ruined everything. I could have continued reading it but author continued manhwa as if McQueen's crime wasn't a big deal: Ed completely forgot about what McQueen did to raped victims after his breakup and forgave McQueen without questioning anything + The apology of McQueen to Ryan wasn't shown to us readers+the porn company staff , janine and Jennifer, weren't redeemed for participation in that devilish porno and author portrayed them as goodies. If an author decides to introduce a sensetive huge flaw such as turning real rape to subject of masturbation for porn people he/she needs to treat it professionally and redeem the character in a way that the redemption balances the flaw. But that was not the case for McQueen.

We have a character, creed/Glenn, who turned the crime of real life rapist into subject of masturbation for porn consumers. This is the huge flaw. It's the ultimate erotisizing of rape.
Author could have slightly redeemed McQueen by 1: making more pages about his apology and making this flaw the center of attention, but this flaw of his was forgotten by everyone and at some point it was like the real problem that lied between McQueen and Ed was Ed embarrassment of porn.
2: author could have shown McQueen apology to Ryan instead of just casually mentioning it.
3: McQueen sold the porn company for Ed's debt and well being and for donations that Ed was going to tend to....instead of passing the donation to Ed , he could have donated it to national sexual violence or rape victims support.
4: Glenn very briefly mentioned that he was trying to make a documentary instead of his offensive porno about rape victims and criminals so that he could amend what he did....author could have elaborated that documentary a bit more instead of just focusing on sex and Ed's obvious repetitive feelings
This is my 4th time reading this manga and it’s brings back how much I love It, everything about it is amazing, the design, the plot, the characters and drama, just everything about it. Although I do have a few unanswered question like what was the real reason Chang was obsessed with Ed (and I say obsessed because ain’t no way that is love and u can fight me on that, like maybe Chang did love Ed during those flashback , but how he treated Ed after Ed’s accident was definitely not love, and I rest my case :) ) Is it some incest shit? Because he even admits that Ed looks like his deceased brother and that whenever he saw Ed , it would bring him back to the past ? idk man but this is honestly one of the best if not the best manga I’ve read. I love the relationship between Ed and glen and u could definitely see that they do love each other.I also absolutely ADORE Ed , people need to give him more hype. Would rate this 1000/10 and I can’t wait for Jaxx next work “under the green light”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
