? i never said homophobes dont exist? dont make it a habit to call strangers stupid, “love”.
Here, let me clarify myself essay style.
As you said, “not liking gays is one thing”. According to Collins Dictionary, the use of “is one thing” is used to contrast your first idea (being homophobic) with a second idea (posting about it online) and emphasize that the second one is much more extreme. Due to this phrase, your words suggest that homophobia (or “not liking gays”) is something excusable, with the implication that “as long as they don’t actively harm others (posting it online), it’s okay”. I argue that such notion is nonsensical as there is no such thing as passive homophobia. No such thing as homophobia that doesn’t hurt people. All homophobia are offensive, whether it’s conscious or otherwise.
Next, I support my argument by saying “it’s exactly bc he dislikes it (gays) that he posted it”. This particular instance proves my statement as his action was a direct result of homophobia. Thus, it’s /not/ one thing to dislike gays, bc this very thing results to such vile behaviour. This statement does not suggest that I don’t think homophobic people don’t exist. I’m saying that homophobia in any way, shape or form should not be tolerated as even the most passive form is still hurtful.
Finally, I concluded my argument stating that there is no such thing as “liking” or “disliking” someone’s existence. You’re either homophobic or not. Homophobia is disgusting, so ofc the action of homophobic person will also be disgusting.
Not liking gays is one thing. BUT POSTING ABOUT IT TO THE COMPANY IS ANOTHER THING THAT I CANNOT ACCEPT. People being gay or not has NOTHING to do with your work life and people should really stop putting their nose where it simply DOES NOT belong. Fricking bastards.
