Even if she fails, she intended to. That really goes against my morals...but on the other hand the art is so pretty so I can't just leave the story unfinished. I just hope for character development regarding that. I want her to realize that while she was hurt, the world still doesn't owe her anything.

Yeah you’re exactly right. Regardless of whether she succeeded or not, she had the intention to and raised a tryant that did make people suffer ( I assume) to some degree.
