yep and ppl should know to separate fiction from reality, lets say just bc I read r@pe, incest etc doesn't mean I support it irl. its funny bc some ppl are so quick to defend fictional characters or lecture about what you should read or not rather than worry about actual bad things that are happening irl LOL. I see more ppl screaming about not sexualizing baku or whatever from that anime but never speak about pedophile in real life and how there are so many predators that are still in politics, celebrity, media etc. like pls spend your energy on something better than crying about fictional things lmaooo, although I won't deny that there are some things in fiction that are TOO fucked up, incest is nothing lol, I mean it is something but its not a big deal in fiction yknow ?
Someone asked what’s the appeal of incest and I think it’s the forbidden/taboo factor but also exploration of different themes: can a single person function as emotional fulfilment for multiple relationships aka friend, sibling and lover? What is the exact difference between a close sibling, a close friend and a lover? If the sibling relationships and friendships are so similar and crossover from friends to lovers is so easy, would it not be possible to go from siblings to lovers easily? Ofc there’s also the issue of absolute emotional dependency on a person because they fulfill one’s emotional needs completely (especially in the event of twincest), which is unhealthy but fun to read in fiction.
In real life, I do think it shouldn’t be normalised but also not demonised if it does happen as long as the couple doesn’t reproduce and they are both adults (I have a brother and would rather kms than see him romantically ew)
