It's not really harem up to latest chap because there is no romance at all. Even the hints are just intended for comedy and nothing more.

As for the men being intended to look weak to avoid overpowering MC, I don't think that's the case. For instance, in Demon Slayer or other shounen, there are also stronger characters than MC, but they don't necessarily overshadow MC.

I dont like harem so I really avoid stories with too many female characters but this one is just okay I guess. I mean there are no sparkly moments between MC and the girls, just his mother asking questions to tease here and there but nah it's not much, MC is an old man lol. It's just sad about what happened to team alpha but it cant be helped but I think it's still better if some of the guys stayed to get stronger. It's just that they somehow looked weak to me just bc Yaeyoung got an early headstart and she progresses too fast. It seemed like the guys here are cut off so they wont steal some spotlight from the MC coz that happens right? where the second male lead or third or fourth are stealing spotlights. Lol. AND WHAT'S WITH ALWAYS ONE EYE OPEN? Lmao idk anymore. So yeah, I think this is safe from harem where girls are stupid enough to be a hindrance to a good plot.
