It seems it's because he will reborn as the son of Hilde and Caleb. He even called Hilde his 'mother' in their last interaction. Apparently he can't manifest to others in his godly form but needs to be human so the best candidates are Hilde and Caleb since they meet the criteria for him to be able to reborn.
This is just too rushed, nothing was explained properly
