I personally like it and still reading it but I also understand that you might don't care about the story (anymore).
Maybe because it is really not your taste, you re tired of this genre, you ve lost your intertest once this arc or issue was solved, the plot has become too stupid/ridiculous/convoluted/frustrating to you etc... All personal reasons are legit.
All I can say is, you can try reading it again. If it is not your cup of tea after all, it's fine.

The darkhaired ML isn't the only one who saved Ebony alone.
There all the other indivual interesting characters who offered their support to rehabilitate Ebony.
And we see also that she is doing her best to become more healthy.
She is using a her own strenght within her limits to get stronger.
It is a very thriving feminist story despite the prescence of the seemingly op ML who is actually very very respectful. He doesn't typically stalk, trap, assault, bothtering, bully or undermine her at all(⌒▽⌒) That behaviour is very rare to see in this genre.
Also, technically it was the unknown red haired empress with pants who rescued Ebony (▰˘◡˘▰)
The Pet Of The Villainess is also a tale about emancipation, healing and empowerment.
Any other similar progressive fantasy stories you can recommend?
