That's exactly what I was thinking! I thought before this chapter he used to serve him in a past ancient life but that sniffing really proved he was a dog at one point. I just connected the dots that one is referenced to a cat (personality wise too) and the other's personality is a dog's

Cain is a good match for jooin, but unfortunately jooin doesn't seem to like Cain, but likes Yahwi.
Yahwi is just a jerk and is dense, but I can kinda get how jooin likes him.
