Because bara are created by gay male authors for gay people. Shounen-ai & Yaoi are created by female authors for female readers.
There are female bara authors too. It's just (personal opinion) I think female authors tend to make their bodies all plump and full of muscle but their faces more feminine and pretty giving it a normal yaoi vibe to it instead of a bara one.
Ummhh.. I don't really think so... Yaoi, bl, shounen ai, manhwa,manga, manhua, webtoons are for everyone for the girls AND the boys (or other) so please, don't put gender on those things because it's for everyone (but not for child lol) <(￣︶￣)
I think what that person meant was that a few of the authors make their books more appealing to a certain type of audience, an example being gay audience. Although anyone would love to read it. It's just it relates more to that certain audience, because I'm pretty sure not a lot of males are smol and petite so the authors make their characters more mature and plump to fit that specific audience.
I mean obviously everyone can read what they want but TYPICALLY shounen ai and yaoi are created by female authors and target a female audience.
Same way shounen manga/anime audience are young males and shojo are young females. It doesn’t mean that as a woman I can’t read or watch a a shounen manga/anime.
