I've read in the novel one of the snake babies comes back but he gets his father's memories as all snake beast men do and becomes creepily obsessed with his mother...like incest obsessed.

yeah I agree with you the snake became obsessed with the mother because she was kind to them and they know that firstly there aren’t many females out there in this world and secondly no one will treat them this nicely especially since they’re snake beastmen so if their mother already loves them to them their logic is to take the father out of the equation and take over his place to get the mothers love for themselves.
