I feel like the queen has some double standards herself, she told the king that he was able to bring in a second wife and have a child but when he mentions the same thing to her, oh no, how dare he even suggests such a rude thing?! Even tho the king annoyed me in the first part, he didn't need to apolpgoze for doing the same as her in that chapter

I think it might be also cause at those times it was normal for kings to have like concubines and stuff, but if women had a husband and a lover she was considered disloyal. Let’s remember she’s not from that world so for her being in relationship is probably still about loyalty but since he was raised differently then it shouldn’t be big deal for him. At least that’s how I see it
It’s prob bc in those times it was normal for men to have more concubines but a woman wasn’t allowed to be with anyone except her husband and she’d probably be shamed if she had other lovers
