i feel the same way too. i haven’t read the novel so i’m not sure if it’s true but i feel like there’s a reason he was so cold. more than just being busy with work. and i’m happy this isn’t gonna be a toxic relationship and may actually get better now that she’s being herself.

I read spoiler that he prepared like a safe place for her, and planned to hide her there, but unfortunately she was killed before that. I think after that, he killed the real veronica? In one side story, he tell his son about his mother. He regrets that he doesn't even know her real name. He also told him she is the 'shadow queen'.
