Same. Their portrayal of women characters is one of the more accurate (and non fetish-y) representations I've seen.
Im not sure but the person who wrote this is a woman but use he him and draw himself as a man sometimes but i cant find any info about him being trans like he didn't say he is a man in anywhere or come out. Idk i can be fully wrong too :/

As far as I know its a women. She and old xian use male pronouns for their works, but aren't trans or anything. Its just something quite common on manga industry, women building a male persona to be the author. Till now nobody knows exactly if the author of haikyuu its a women or a men.
