Because first, the most incorrect thing that you repeatedly pointed out in your statement is 'the chef doesn't realize/doesn't understand his feelings for pink guy', no... the chef fully realized he has romantic feelings for pink guy, the chef realized it in chapter 28 (means you've been missing the point for 12 chapters), even in this very chapter he thought about how the other chef thinks he's dating while he hasn't even told pink guy that he likes him, in this very chapter the chef obviously stated he likes pink guy, if you doubt that he meant it in romantic way, read these 2 panels from chapter 28 again :

The fact that 28 people like your comment and that one reply above me who agreed with you is shocking for me, it means that there are around 30 people who totally missed or forgot the scene where the chef admitted his feelings for pink guy, means you all saw the chef as dense guy even after 12 chapters, no our MC is an proper adult who accepted his own feelings and stop denying it since a long time ago
Second, the chef doesn't need to get mad, there are other many casual way to respond, "why should i care" is too harsh (or maybe this harsh words came out because he does mad)
It's really normal that pink hair is upset about it, standing him out for too long is bad, but it doesn't even last a day, in this very chapter he already went his way to talk to the chef directly and sort things out

I’m with the chef on this one. Yes there’s some romantic tension between them but they’re not dating and it’s pink dude’s job. The chef doesn’t even realize he likes him romantically and we know his personality isn’t like that, so it’d be out of character if he got mad at him when he understands it’s his job and they’re not even together. I’m upset at pink dude for deliberately standing chef up :| At this point I’d say there needs to be communication but that’s really mostly on pink dude cus chef doesn’t even realize he likes him, he can’t really communicate his feelings when he doesn’t even understand them yet. It’d be good if they talked about it tho in some way or another
