Honestly both Helena and Elise are victim of circumstances. Helena had no say in the prince's affection towards her since she is nothing but a maid. Elise who actually liked the prince eventually grew jealous of her and started bullying her. If we were to really blame someone it should be the peince who doesn’t have enough balls to call off his marriage with Elise and continues to torment both of them
