MC being hurt is totally reasonable. Just when he starts to question his real feelings, leaning more to like, he heard the other dude reject his feelings. He wasnt expecting him to admit but he didnt expect him to outright reject it. Our mind is a fickle thing so I can totally agree with the mc's reaction.
From how the top was messing around with him, without really telling him how he felt. The bottom guy just concludes that he is just a toy to play with from those two words that came from the tops mouth.
