I remember the same thing happening in the comment section of another story when a maid was threatened into baiting the MC into a trap. People complaining that this commoner who's baby was being held hostage by aristocrats didn't confide in the 12-year-old that was naive enough to fall for the trap hook, line and sinker. Not to mention the 12-year-old's mother had a super scary reputation and I'm sure no commoner would expect her to actually be nice based on her reputation alone.
Yup. Imho, even between friends, its kinda hard to ask for help from each other (especially where one's life is on the line). It was far too much to judge these commoners stupid for not begging the nobles to help them. RIP common sense.....
