And the author of the fanfic have the nerve to tell ppl to not using her 'story'?

1. The characters is not hers in the first place.
2. She think if she wrote the fanfic using her own fictional character ppl would read or know the fanfic?

Get over yourself. This is why I hate people who don't have any shame and so shameless taking other people work and claim it as their's and claim right over it. Seriously please buy yourself a good mirror and look how pathetic your behavior are.

No it is not her characters but it is her imagination and story. So yes the original author has some rights and say to it. Like imagine writing your own essay 1000+ words and then someone copies the file and claims it as theirs. Thats how it really is. + most fanfics don't get read, theres no way to tell if a fanfic will get popular or not. The original author probably published this story not knowing it would get so viral. Im my eyes, people can do fanarts, they can even write mini stories about what happenes after. But anything that has to do with the original piece like selling it as a book, putting it into a FULL manga is unacceptable unless the original author says otherwise. And the original author has said on their tiktok that they dont like people turning it into books bc they wrote it 5 years ago.

you're the one who needs buy a mirror. the author has complete rights over the label of "In Another Life". they can reject any proposal of adaptation because even tho they do not own the characters, they're the one who made the plotline, the storyline and everything else about the fanfic. respect their decisions and don't be an asshole. u didn't create the story so u don't have any right to talk shit about the author and their decisions.

You are invalidating the author’s feelings. Despite having no rights over the characters, they absolutely have a right to decline any products circulating around her story.

Oh shut the fuck up, it’s the author’s imagination and plot. They have every right to complain

People will read fan fiction Over ANYTHING what if you wrote a fanfic about a Kpop star? A fake story. You can claim that right? Since the person you used is a real person? Maybe YOU need to work on your grammar. 1/2 of the stuff u say I couldn’t read. People will read fanfics regardless. The better the fanfic, the more people will read it. You can make a fanfic about a real person and change their personality. Who will claim the rights to that? The person that it’s about? No, they cant because it is someone else’s work.
