The author did this to stop is from liking cain. And it's working sadly. Honestly it feels like they did this to get rid of the readers second male lead syndrome. Also that's a great question where tf did her brother go....

I feel sorry for Cain, i feel sorry for him that he felt so helpless? that he resorted to such a strange tactic for his character and now he's been turned into a pathetic excuse for a knight.
