Idk, it was said that he cares about his family but he's just busy and the way he screamed after killing his son? didn't seem like he felt nothing. And about whole "killing" part I totally understand him. They became vampires who can't control themselves. They had to be killed or else they would kill someone innocent instead (like how MC killed his mom and then after that two more people within two days). Dad seems like the best guy out of them all right now :/
Even as a human I can't argue against his thinking. And to the father, why bother getting married and having kids when you feel nothing for them and would kill them without a second thought and not feel disturbed in the slightest? Even the mother hid information from and had zero trust and faith in him. That's just sad.
