From what I've read from other people's posts is that the og aunt treated Luca bad but truly loved him, she just had her own trauma and took out her resentment for Luca's father on him. She even gave him a memento of his mom when he originally left with the duke.
Judith only became a villain after Franz lied to her about how the Duke's fam was treating him (i.e. claiming they were abusing Luca).
In conclusion, I think Luca did resent her but then reflected after the fact that, yeah, life wasn't kind to her either. She was misguided, but she did love him.
It's already been established that the original Judith was a bitch to Luca, and that she died later. Did Luca like her even in his previous life, despite her being a bad aunt? Did he care about her??
